卡特彼勒CAT柴油发动机进、排气系统的组成件控制燃烧所需要的空气质量和数量。卡特彼勒柴油机每边均有一个单独的增压器和一根排气支管，卡特彼勒CAT柴油发动机中冷器装在卡特彼勒柴油机中心的缸头之间，进气支管为一列弯头，连接中冷器通到缸头进口，两根凸轮轴，分开装在机体两边，控制伐系统成件的运动。
